Biography

Jingtong produces the unexpected. She marries her heritage of an Eastern aesthetic with that of her experiences of the West into her unique visual language. She has a specific plan of what she wants to study at tertiary level and this is evidenced in her quietly determined approach.

There is a genuine sense of discovery in her artwork that is underpinned with her understanding of both contemporary art and design in both the UK and Asia. Her visual research in the terms of photography is outstanding, capturing the beauty of derelict industrial sites alongside creating a nuanced visual narrative that explores the mass consumption of plastic and waste in China. Jingtong's use of a digital format to create stimulating and accessible sketchbook pages is a real strength.
