Stephannie Cartwright - Art Teacher (ceramics specialism)

A graduate of the Royal College of Art, Stephannie Cartwright is both a ceramic artist and educator.

Having taught both in the UK and in Australia at several educational establishments such as Cental St Martins, London, and the University of New South Wales, before working at Sutton High School.

Stephannie has exhibited her artwork internationally, most notably at the Sydney Opera House and her solo show ‘Fantaji Kushiki’ at the Mura Gallery, Sydney. Most recently Stephannie has built a studio at home where she continues her practice as an artist by producing ceramic artworks and paintings.

‘I absolutely love teaching and seeing the ‘penny drop’ when I student begins to truly ‘see’ the world around them. I try to work in my own personal studio as much as I can as I believe my continuing practice as an artist helps the students at SHS by remembering just how challenging, at times, yet, greatly rewarding, creating art can be.’

Jon-Paul Winter - Art / Design and Technology Teacher (digital specialism)

As well as teaching at Sutton High, I run a small brand communications agency called Very Studio. This helps me to keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in digital communication and informs my teaching practice, especially at A-Level. In turn, the students I teach never fail to surprise and inspire my own work.
